bmaclegacy16There is a campaign in October encouraging people to make or update their will. Various solicitors have joined with leading charities to encourage people to think of leaving a legacy.

Baby Milk Action can receive legacies, but we cannot participate in free wills month as we are not a registered charity. If you would like to remember us in your will, download our leaflet for further information.

We have applied for charitable status in the past, but the Charity Commission views our work on regulating the baby feeding industry to protect parents and babies as a “political purpose”.

Even though much of our work would count as charitable, this primary focus on regulations means we have to be registered as a not-for-profit company, rather than a charity.

Working with our partners around the world, we help to bring in, strengthen and defend legislation in the face of opposition from some of the most powerful companies in the world. It is extremely difficult to fund this work – and made harder as we do not have the financial benefits of being a charity.

Remembering Baby Milk Action in your will is one way to keep our work going. We know that even just thinking about the future in this way can be hard. We also know that you will want to make sure your loved ones are cared for rst. But, no matter how large or how small, your gift could make a significant difference to the next generation.

Donating, joining and buying items from our online shop are other ways to help fund our work.
